FEATURED ROLE CDI QUERY WRITER
At Accuity, CDI Query Writers play a critical role in ensuring that clinical documentation accurately reflects the patient’s medical condition. By analyzing medical records through the lens of regulatory knowledge and coding expertise, they identify areas where documentation may be unclear or incomplete. When necessary, they initiate compliant provider queries to support accurate coding. This process includes evaluating clinical indicators and integrating insights from Accuity’s interactive chart review teams, allowing for a more comprehensive and accurate representation of the patient’s health status.
The CDI team is backed by extensive internal resources, including structured training programs, access to clinical and coding data, and direct communication with leadership. Their work adheres strictly to the standards and guidelines set by AHIMA, ACDIS, and the AHA Coding Clinic. Leveraging ICD-10 coding guidelines and codable medical terminology, Accuity’s CDI experts contribute to improved documentation integrity, which supports appropriate reimbursement and enhances quality metrics such as severity of illness (SOI) and risk of mortality (ROM).
